Governor Announces New Jobs Coming to East Georgia

Since taking office, creating jobs has been one of Governor Perdue’s top priorities.  On Thursday, the Governor was pleased to announce that Shaw Industries, a flooring manufacturer based in Dalton, Georgia, will expand its Thomson facility, creating even more jobs for Georgians.  

“Shaw Industries is one of our state’s great corporate citizens and has played a major role in making northwest Georgia the leader in the carpet industry,” said Governor Perdue. “Shaw is committed to Georgia’s long-term economic growth, and I’m pleased that they are creating more jobs for Georgians.”  

The expansion will create 70 new jobs in the community and represents a $27 million economic investment.
